it happend one day at the store....

Recently we have been having issues, as with any two year old, about constantly repeating things like "no don't do that" so many times you are blue in the face. With Gabe this action automatically induces a HUGE meltdown along with kicking and sometimes hitting. Needless to say if you have a toddler or have had YOU KNOW exactly what I am talking about. So on to my story. We went to the store to buy something for a family thing we are doing this week and Macey's the wonderful place that it is has not only the car carts they give free cookies to kids. Yes that is why I shop there! So of course the first place we go is to the bakery for a cookie and Gabe does very well the entire time we are shopping for the few things we needed. Until check out while I love that store I HATE that there is candy right there at check out, I know why they do this but it still bugs me....I'm seriously thinking of starting a campaign against such torture. I of course told Gabe "no" he just had a cookie and we needed to go home and have lunch, to my surprise he didn't break down so I thought HEY great move on we checked out and started walking to the car....and OF COURSE in my sons hand was a starburst treat.........................My two year old son just STOLE a candy!! I immediatly stopped got down and told him how wrong it was that he took the candy, thinking to myself that he didn't understand a dang thing I was saying, but to my surprise he did..... I had the most humbling moment as I told him he needed to put the candy back because he had not paid for the treat. My TWO YEAR OLD son walk solomly back to the counter and put the candy back, walked back over to me and got in the cart. I only asked him once and I never had to repeat myself, he never threw a fit and sadly did what he was asked I knew at that moment that my baby wasn't really a baby anymore he was old enough to know what he had done and correct it even though I knew and he knew he didn't want to. On the verge of tears I walked over to him and told him how proud I was of him for being honest and how important that was...... and as any pregnant mother with emotions running I told him that he may borrow a dollar from me and go purchase the treat as long as he would eat his lunch first. He agreed, I handed him a dollar and he went got his treat and waited PATIENTLY in line to pay for it. After that we went to the car and drove home, he held his treat the whole time didn't open it or anything..... I was so proud of how he did I can't even begin to explain my joy.

Of course there was some coaxing involved at lunch but hey it can't ALL go well.

Our F*U*N* day out with THOMAS!!!!

Wow there is just SO MUCH to say about our amazing day out with Thomas the Train....WE ALL actually had a great time and played WAY hard. Ironically Gabe didn't crash afterwords, he was still so excited that he couldn't calm down. But He had a blast! And still to this day tells everyone about how he got to ride on the Thomas Train. But, since there were SO MANY pictures I did a slide show! Just run your mouse over the photo for the captions.

wow when it rains..... is POURS!!

So.... We bought our house less than a year ago, but coming up on it. Our Furnace died! Yes, we are so happy that this poor thing had to die WHILE WE WERE GOING THROUGH A COLD FRONT!!! So we had a place coming to put it in today... their truck broke down. I know seriously!? So they won't be here until Monday. What Joys right?
But the good news, there has been a lot of cuddling at our house! LOL We are doing great and running space heaters! I plan to hold out as long as I can.
We are putting in a great system though and adding in an AC unit! WAHOO so this summer will be enjoyed inside, in the nice cool air. Being pregnant during the summer isn't looking so bad!
Anyways Seth and I are laughing at our run of crazy luck. It's amazing HOW MANY things can go wrong or bills that happen to come up in the same time period. Lucky we paid our tithing right?
